Quarterly Newsletter - March 2021

Greetings!

Please allow me to take this opportunity to provide a few updates from our Board of Directors. My name is Linda Davidson-Gafford, and it was my honor to be elected in February to hold the board president position for Path. I have served on several non-profit boards in the past 20 years and have proudly served on the Path Board for 3 years. I have enjoyed being involved with several projects and events for Path as well as assisting the board with strategic planning, and there location of Path to its current location. Year End Letter and Update

December 5, 2020

To Our Generous Donors and Supporters,

What a year 2020 has been!  We are blessed to have our community’s support in the work that is being done at Path.  This year has brought unexpected turmoil to families in our community, and we know there is long lasting pain and consequences to many who feel overwhelmed by the world around us.  In the midst of this turmoil, God has shown His glory and…Continue Reading

Quarterly Newsletter - September 2020

Greetings Friends!

As we enter the 4th quarter of this very strange year, I keep thinking of a quote from Winnie the Pooh’s sad, little friend, Eeyore, “It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine.” We are blessed at Path in so many ways, so rather than listing challenges that non-profits are facing right now, let's focus on the sunshine! We are STILL open and serving women in need! Our staff and volunteers continue to be healthy, willing and able to be at Path for our clients. Finally and most importantly, God’s daily provisions are endless. Path continues to be financially stable. We thank God everyday for our community of supporters and ‘surprise gifts’ that have been given to our organization. We were also blessed with another grant through the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation specifically for our Childbirth Education Program. Path is currently the only ‘in-person’…Continue Reading

Quarterly Newsletter - June 2020

Friends of PATH;

Greetings! I hope this letter finds you healthy and hopeful! If I were asked to sum up the last 3 months in a phrase, some options might be: “One day at a time” or “This too shall pass” or “Lord willing". At Path, our goal was to stay open and provide services to women in need as long as we were able.  Praise God, we kept our doors open, staffed and ready to serve.  As we all know, staying flexible in such a fluid and changing environment is key to being successful. Therefore, rather than having our regular Pregnancy, Childbirth and Beyond class with multiple clients we have met with clients one-on-one as needed.  We have limited our daily client appointments to be able to keep up with cleaning and sanitization. Also, we are keeping the office limited to staff and call in volunteers as necessary.  Lastly, we put a hold on all traditional fundraisers and Baby Bottle Drives and opted for virtual options. We know that as this storm passes the future is still unknown...Click to Continue Reading

COVID-19 Update

Good afternoon!

We need your support now, more than ever.  Our community needs a safe haven to turn to during personal times of crisis and uncertainty.  Path remains OPEN and serving women!

Starting with good news.  A study published in The Lancet Medical Journal in February followed Women with COVID-19 confirmed pneumonia at gestational ages of 26 weeks to 39 weeks who gave birth while infected with the virus.  Scientists tested the amniotic fluid, placenta, cord blood and nasal and throat membranes of the babies for the COVID-19 virus. All babies tested negative for COVID-19 and there was no trace of the virus found in the breast milk!  This study encourages us that there is no safer place on earth right now than in the womb.  Praise God!

A bleak reality however is that Path has seen a sharp uptake in the numbers of abortion seeking women.  Abortion seeking and abortion vulnerable women are affected in various ways.  With the 'Shelter in Place' orders and so many businesses closed or working at low capacity, stable income is a huge concern.  Adding a pregnancy to an already unstable situation can be overwhelming.  The baby is at HIGH RISK at this point, even among women who may not, under regular circumstances consider abortion.

While we remain open, we are also minimizing risk and exposure.  To that end, most volunteers are currently not serving, and the clinic is operating with a skeleton crew of our three employees, and one occasional additional ultrasound nurse.  We have ongoing deep cleaning/disinfecting protocols in place.  We have masks and safety glasses available and are seeking more availability of masks going forward should we come to a time where we feel increased use is necessary.

Due to a smaller staffing, and increased sanitation needs, we are limiting scheduled appointments to 2 clients per day. Clients are screened over the phone and again at the time of their appointment. We are also encouraging them to come alone, or if necessary, with no more than 1 healthy support person. Every person entering our office, including delivery people must be able to affirm they have not been exposed to or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

Please be in prayer for our clients, and for the Holy Spirit to guide us through telephone intakes and appointment discussions.  Please also pray for the health or our staff and volunteers, (here and on leave), and for the mechanical health of our ultrasound machine and other systems that keep us up and running.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at 208-384-9504.

Blessings,

Sue Drayton

Quarterly Newsletter - March 2020

Friends of PATH;

The clinic is open and will continue to be open as long as we are able to help others without causing any harm or risk to our staff, volunteers, and clients. To date none of our employees or volunteers have been exposed to COVID-19 or had any indication of illness. Our volunteers have been given the option to remain home if they choose. With that being said, we are following the protocols set forth by our Medical Director. Every individual, including clients, staff, & volunteers is…Click to Continue Reading

COVID-19 Operations

Path Pregnancy Clinic is still open at this time. We are taking extra precautions as prescribed by our Medical Director. We want to continue to be available to those in need while keeping our staff, clients and volunteers safe. We are limiting clients to one support person, while all others need to wait outside. In addition to an expanded disinfecting protocol, every individual needs to be able to answer our required screening questions. Click here to view questions.
